Training of Trainers – Farmers’ Dialogue International, Kenya [4]

Training with Farmers' Dialogue facilitators in Rwanda [4]

Farmers’ Dialogue is aiming at mobilising and helping farmers to fulfil their role in producing food, reducing poverty, protecting the environment and natural resources. Those responsible for the programme in Africa have expressed the need of a 'training of trainers', in order to learn about and how to use training and animation tools and be able to run training meetings in their local situation. This will make the programme more sustainable at the African level and give more opportunities to respond to requests coming from outside Farmers’ Dialogue. Training will take place 1-7 November in Nyahururu, Kenya.

Rwanda - a source of hope [7]

[7]

Thanks to the international farmers’ meeting organised by the Rwandan Initiatives of Change team, in November 2011, I was able to make a third trip to Rwanda and meet with people who are warm-hearted, generous, hard-working and forward-thinking despite the ever-present traces of the past.

The suffering of the Rwandan soul [11]

Official opening of the Training session in Rwanda (March 2011 - Kigali) [11]

One of the Farmers' Dialogue management team shares his thoughts, following his visit to Rwanda for a Capacity building course in March. The experience there made it clear that for Rwandans and her neighbours to feed themselves on a permanent basis, divisions, most of which have their roots in the past, have to be attended to or they can quickly flare up again and undo all the good work done.
